Basketball tourney this weekend

    If you haven’t had enough basketball yet, check out the Houlton Recreation Department this weekend, as the Houlton Shire Invitational Tournament for 5-6 grade boys will be played Friday through Sunday.
    There are two divisions for the tournament. In the Black Division, teams playing are Dyer Brook,  Greater Houlton Christian Academy, Houlton White and Houlton Black. In the White Division, teams featured are Caribou, Dexter, Presque Isle and Fort Fairfield.
    The tournament schedule is as follows:
    Friday, 6 p.m., Greater Houlton Christian Academy takes on Houlton Black.
    On Saturday, 8 a.m., Greater Houlton Christian Academy plays Houlton White; 9:10 a.m., Dyer Brook vs. Houlton Black; 10:20 a.m., Fort Fairfield vs. Caribou; 11:30 a.m., Dexter vs. Presque Isle; 12:40 p.m., Dyer Brook vs. Greater Houlton Christian Academy; 1:50 p.m., Dexter vs. Caribou; 3 p.m., Fort Fairfield vs. Presque Isle; 4:10 p.m., Houlton White vs. Houlton Black; 5:20 p.m., Dexter vs. Fort Fairfield; 6:30 p.m., Presque Isle vs. Caribou and 7:40 p.m., Dyer Brook vs. Houlton White.
    On Sunday, games will be based on team records from Saturday.
    Player of the Game awards will be presented after each game on Saturday, while individual team medals will be given to the runners-up and champions, as well as the third and fourth place teams.
    Admission is $3 for adults; $2 for senior citizens and $1 for children under 16. An adult weekend pass is $5 and a senior citizen weekend pass is $3. Admission is good for all games on that day. Admission will be charged on each day.
