Students at the Greater Houlton Christian Academy supplemented the riggers of academics to take part in the school’s annual Spirit Week held from March 14-16.
Spirit Week includes students from pre-K to grade 12. Each day of the week, students were to come dressed as the theme for that day. This year’s themes included color day, retro day and a variety of class-chosen themes such as superheroes, nerds and animated characters.
The school experienced nearly 100 percent participation every day.
During the morning, the secondary classes competed against each other on their decorating and costuming abilities, while the afternoons were filled with numerous class competitions such as dodgeball, volleyball, trivia and food contests.
Perhaps the highlight of this year’s Spirit Week was the school’s first ever lip-sync contest.
During the week, students had to learn how to communicate with each other, overcome differences, and work together in order to do well in the competitions.
