Officials with The Health Services Foundation have announced the 10th Anniversary Diamond Raffle winners.
A very special year for the Foundation as proceeds from this annual raffle topped the $11,766 mark, making it the second most successful raffle in 10 years and a total, to date, of $92,000 having been raised. Those funds have assisted the Foundation in its ability to give back so much to benefit the health care of its local communities.
“With proceeds going to the Foundation’s current Mammography Campaign to bring state-of-the-art digital equipment to our local area these funds will mean so much and continue the Foundation’s mission of ‘Excellence in Healthcare’ to all the communities we serve,” said Elizabeth Dulin, Foundation executive director.
Early detection of breast cancer for anyone being diagnosed, make his or her survival chances so much better, as digital mammography means quicker processing of images, and makes screening more efficient for the patient and the hospital. It is paramount that this vitally needed equipment/service be provided locally and eliminate patient travel to other facilities for their screenings.
Not only did the Health Services Foundation have huge support from the community in purchasing tickets, they had the following sponsors: Goodrich Jewelry, Animal Hospital of Houlton, County Yankee, F.A. Peabody Co., First Choice Real Estate, Houlton Tire Co., Houlton Water Company, Paradis Shop N’ Save, Sylvester Law Firm, and Walmart step in a very big way to celebrate this very successful yearly fundraiser.
“We cannot begin to thank them enough,” said Dulin.
