CASTINE — Several local students were recently named to Maine Maritime Academy’s dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement in the first semester of the 2010-2011 academic year. Students named to the Dean’s List earn a grade point average of 3.3 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Named to the list were: Kyle Martin of Amity; Curtis Libby of Cary Plantation; Zara-Anne Farrar and Carly Caron, both of Houlton.
Martin, a member of the class of 2011, is majoring in Marine Engineering Technology. He is a graduate of Hodgdon High School.
Libby, a member of the class of 2011, is majoring in Marine Systems Engineering Design. He is a graduate of Houlton High School.
Farrar, a member of the class of 2013, is majoring in International Business and Logistics. She is a graduate of Houlton High School.
Caron, a member of the class of 2011, is majoring in Marine Biology. She is a graduate of Houlton High School, Houlton.
Maine Maritime Academy, a public, co-educational college specializing in ocean and marine-oriented programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, was founded in 1941. MMA enrolls more than 900 students from 35 states and several foreign countries. The college awards A.S., B.S., an M.S. degrees in 14 fields of study.
