    MONTICELLO – Chavala Folsom, 101, died December 15, 2010 at a local health care facility. She was born December 12, 1909 in Monticello, the daughter of Wilmont and Isa Porter.
    She attended grammar school in Monticello and attended Ricker Classical Institute in Houlton.
    She was predeceased by her husband, Vaughn; son, Garth; sister, Hilda; and brother, Linwood. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Norma Folsom of Monticello; two grandchildren, Kim Folsom of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kathy Schaffer of Severna, Maryland and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
    At her request there will be no funeral. There will be a graveside service in the spring. Friends may make gifts in Chavala’s memory to the Monticello Methodist Church, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, ME 04730.
