Mary Ruth Lucas

    CALIFORNIA & HOULTON – Mary was born to Mr. and Mrs. Francis McMonigle in Houlton. She was the second born of nine children. She came to California in the late 40s and settled in the Los Angeles area.
    Mary has been a member of Our Lady of Loretto for 50 years. She served as Eucharistic minister, taught CCD and was a volunteer, as well as working for a California hospital until she was 89 years old.
    Mary’s favorite hobby was BINGO. She would play 5-6 days a week. Mary enjoyed traveling with her children to Texas, Las Vegas, and especially the east coast, from which she originated.
    Mary is survived by seven children, Charles, Anita, Louis, Victoria, Virginia, Margaret, and Linda; 21 grand-children; 30 great-grand-children and one great-great-grand-daughter.
    Mary was known to everyone as Nana. She always had an open-door policy and would treat everyone as if they were family.
    Mary leaves behind her brother Eugene in Houlton, her sister Margaret from Miami, Florida, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the US and Canada.
    May she rest in peace.
