    Hurley, M. Teresa, 75, December 3, 2010.  Arrangements by Plummer Funeral Home, Augusta.  Committal services to be held in the spring in Houlton. PT M Teresa Hurley    AUGUSTA – M. Teresa Hurley, age 75, of Augusta, died Dec. 3, 2010, in Augusta at Maine General Medical Center after an extended illness. Teresa was born on April 13, 1935, in Houlton, the daughter of Donald and Catherine (Crabbe) Hurley.
    She graduated from Houlton High School in 1953 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. She worked as an RN at the Madigan Hospital, Houlton, followed by teaching at Maine School of Practical Nursing in Portland. She then worked at the VA Medical Center at Togus from 1965 until her retirement in 1993.
    She was an active member of Federal Employees’ Program and was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Drive. Teresa was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips abroad with family and friends.
    Teresa was predeceased by her parents and brother John.
    She is survived by her brother Frank Hurley, and his wife Donna and their children, Daniel, of Caribou; Catherine Begert of Sabattus, and John’s daughters, Jacqueline Hurley of South Gardiner, Suzanne Fitzpatrick of Monticello, and their mother Claudine Blanchette of Houlton; special cousins, Lois Cassidy and her husband Morris of Houlton, Helen Ann Warren and her husband Garth of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and Ann Dyer of Holden, Maine; also many devoted friends and neighbors.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church on Western Ave. in Augusta.
    Memorial contributions in Teresa’s honor may be made to a Nursing Scholarship at St. Joseph’s College, 278 Whites Bridge Road, Standish, ME 04084; or National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016; or to your local Humane Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME. Committal services will be held in the spring in Houlton, Maine.
