Rita E. Mayberry

    Mayberry, Rita E., 92, November 27, 2010.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment to be held in the Smyrna Mills Cemetery.
    SMYRNA MILLS & HOULTON – Rita E. Mayberry, 92, died Nov. 27, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born April 21, 1918, at Merrill, the daughter of Fritz and Louella (Smart) Soule.
    Rita was a life-long member of the Smyrna Methodist Church, where she was very active on many committees. She taught English and French for many years in Oakfield and Houlton schools.
    Rita is survived by two sons, Robert E. Mayberry, Jr. and his wife Tina of San Francisco, CA, Richard F. Mayberry, Sr. and Mary Splan of Zephyrhills, FL; three grandchildren, Richard F. Mayberry, Jr., Echo Gustafson and Holly Brannen; two great-grandchildren; her sister Mary Crandall of Oakfield; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert E. Mayberry.
    Funeral services were held at the Dunn Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 4 with Rev. Marilyn Rohdin officiating. Interment was in the Smyrna Mills Cemetery. Gifts may be made in Rita’s memory to the Smyrna/Merrill Historical Society, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, ME 04730.
