Adopt-A-Block receives Machias Savings Bank Community Development Grant

HOULTON, Maine — The Adopt A Block program has been awarded a Community Development Grants by Machias Savings Bank in the amount of $5,000.

The Community Development Grant was created to meet the needs in their service areas for community development above and beyond its typical contributions.  The grant focuses on three areas including: services to low -moderate income individuals and/or families, job creation, and the ability of the organization to leverage funds to increase the scope of the grant.
    Adopt a Block Program of Aroostook is a multifaceted project that increases the scope of services provided to individuals and families. The project includes providing 150 Thanksgiving boxes to families, education to parents through a program entitled “Project Prevention”, and food, furniture and clothing to families in need.
The Community Development Grant is awarded annually to deserving projects serving the primary market areas of Machias Savings Bank. Machias Savings Bank is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
