PORTLAND — On Thursday, September 16, TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank(r), will launch a full-scale, statewide small business campaign, during which teams of lending officers and bank employees will fan out in towns across Maine with the goal of personally visiting with more than 300 small business owners in one day.
The purpose for TD Bank’s door-to-door small business effort is to spread the word among Maine’s small business community that TD Bank is actively lending to companies of all sizes, across all industries, and to discuss the needs and concerns of small business owners. The event is part of TD Bank’s increasing focus on making banking more convenient for Maine companies and individuals alike.
“We recognized that there’s a perception in the market that banks aren’t lending to small business. We want Maine’s small business community to know that TD Bank lent throughout the economic downturn, and we’re lending now to help fuel the upturn,” said Larry Wold, TD Bank’s Market President for Maine. “We want this dedicated effort to demonstrate both our localized, highly personal approach to banking, and that TD Bank is serious about small business.”
In addition to the small business campaign, TD Bank also announced it is extending lobby and drive-up hours in 23 locations across southern Maine beginning Sunday, September 5 – adding a grand total of more than 280 banking hours each week.
“As part of being America’s Most Convenient Bank, our goal is to be open longer than any other bank in any given market,” Wold said. “More and more small business owners are working longer hours or six-day weeks, so we’re responding by extending hours and adding Sunday banking in 14 locations.”
