Patten Drug: Quality service and trusted pharmacists

PATTEN — For more than 100 years, residents of Patten and its surrounding areas have enjoyed professional pharmaceutical services from trusted pharmacists and their assistants.
Image    Patten Drug, located at 20 Main St. has been owned and operated by Joel Fitzpatrick since 1996. Fitzpatrick and his team take pride in providing quality service and advice to their customers. It’s their hard work and dedication that continues to keep Patten Drug a primary source for residents throughout Patten.
“Customer service is most important,” explained Fitzpatrick. “I credit my staff at Patten Drug for helping meet the needs of customers.” As far as his business goes, Fitzpatrick says it’s just a matter of keeping ahead of the demands and making sure the customers’ needs are met.
Patten Drug’s pharmacist John Scovill has celebrated 50 years in the profession. He and Fitzpatrick’s combined service has provided more than 70 years of quality pharmaceutical needs.
“We come in every day and work our hardest to fulfill their needs,” Fitzpatrick explained. “We evolve the fastest way we can for our customers.”
Patten Drug provides a variety of services to local customers. Besides providing prescriptions and prescription services to residential and retail customers, Patten Drug offers health and beauty aids, cards, fresh flowers and gifts to the people in the northern Katahdin Valley area.
“We strive to please our customers and keep them happy,” explained Fitzpatrick. The store is open from Monday to Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can reach Patten Drug by calling 528-2244, or by fax at 528-2243.
Patten Drug also has a Flower Shop within the store, operated by Georgia Bragdon McNally for the last five years. She had three years of experience before coming to Patten Drug and she keeps up-to-date on flower arrangement trends by regularly attending classes.
McNally handles an array of services from weddings to proms, bridal and baby showers and even in-home consultations for funeral arrangements.
McNally also works with memorial silks adding personal touches for the loved one.
Another advantage of working with McNally is her in-home consultations on fall and Christmas décor.
“I can match colors and styles,” she said. “I can match drapes to table cloths.”
Taking care of the customer is what it is all about.
“If I don’t have what a customer wants on hand, I will get it,” she said. “I have easy ordering access.”
McNally is a member of the Maine State Florist and Grower’s Association and her shop is open Monday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesday and Saturday by appointment only.
