Elm Tree North delivers satisfaction

    HOULTON — When Gary L. Dwyer lost the Elm Tree Diner to a fire in September 2009; plans were quickly put into motion to open a new, yet comfortably familiar restaurant on the North Road in Houlton.
    Elm Tree North opened in mid-November at the site of the former Atrium restaurant located next to the Shiretown Inn and Suites.
    The Elm Tree North features the same menu customers grew accustomed to at The Elm Tree Diner. A banquet room is also included in the building, and Dwyer said that could open up new avenues for his business. Please give us a call at either location for your banquet needs.
    Plans for opening the “The Elm Tree Diner” are under way which means we will be offering our customers a new menu for “The Elm Tree North.” Our new menu will offer customers a more relaxed dining experience rather than the fast-paced experience a diner offers.
    The new menu will be more upscale serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We will still be making homemade muffins and toast along with the usual breakfasts, but we will have new items to choose from as well such as a healthy omelet and eggs Benedict just to name a few.
    “The luncheon menu will offer burgers, club sandwiches, and salads including Taco Salad. The dinner menu will feature more Seafood dinners, grilled halibut, filet mignon with lobster tail along with other new recipes for pork and chicken. Even our appetizers have changed. Elm Tree North will offer scrumptious bacon wrapped scallops and shrimp cocktail. You’ll have to come in and experience the change and see what other delicious recipes, appetizers and desserts that our new menu has to offer.
