Image    HOULTON – Mrs. Patricia L. (Andrews) Hughes, 67, of Houlton, Maine, formerly a longtime Lowell resident, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Lahey Clinic after a lengthy illness.
    Born in Lowell, November 05, 1942, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Sophie (Finch) Andrews, she received her early education in the Lowell School system and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1960. Patricia became affiliated with the H.E. Fletcher Granite Company in Westford as the payroll Administrator for several years. Shortly after she became a project manager at the former Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard and Littleton, retiring in 1998.
    She was a very active member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of the Church Choir. More recently she was a member of the Houlton Wesleyan Church in Maine. Patricia enjoyed crafts and was a devoted gardener who took great pride and enjoyment in her plants and flowers. She loved to read and loved her three dogs, Missy, Sampson, and Newton. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed the solice of Houlton. A fabulous cook and baker, she was famous for her black moons.
    She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer R. Hughes of Houlton, Maine; two sons, Robert J. Hughes, and Steven A. Hughes and his wife, Renee L. of Lowell; two precious grandchildren, Troy D. Hughes and JoJo A. Hughes both of Lowell; two sisters, Susan Andrews and her partner, Pat Lastella of Lunenburg, Charlene Andrews of Indio, California; two brothers, Kenneth Richard Andrews of Albuquerque, New Mexico and John R. Andrews and his wife, Judith of Jefferson, PA; her former husband Dennis Hughes of Houlton; also several nieces and nephews.
