The race started in front of Birch Point Lodge and campground on Pleasant Pond, with more than 20 craft. Results of the event were unavailable by press time and will be listed in an upcomng edition of the Pioneer Times. Proceeds of the race benefited the Southern Aroostook Dollars for Scholars chapter, and the race was held in memory of Ena Noyes Phipps, a longtime lake association member, camp owner on Pleasant Lake and friend.
