PATTEN, Maine — A Hawaiian luau is the theme this year for floats and pageants during Pioneer Days, Aug. 9-15. And, Patten Town Manager Terry Conklin said “the events are really coming together.” But, she added, “success depends on great participation, so residents need to start signing up, now.” There are plenty of events for adults and children according to Conklin who said she will be taking calls at the town office to answer any questions residents may have. The events for which Conklin suggests early registration, are: the Patten Pioneer Days Pageant, CPR certification, and the Most Popular Baby Contest. (See dates and times below.)
Saturday, August 14 is a big day for children and adolescents with a host of activities and events for them including Bingo in the park, a Kiddies Carnival, the MacDonald Farm Petting Zoo, a foul shooting contest and 3-on-3 basketball games.
Below is a preliminary list of activities and events with contact information. The number for the town office is: 528-2215. Conklin said a complete schedule of events is coming out soon.
