Contributed photoThe Woodie Wheaton Land Trust presented a $500 check to the Chiputneticook Lakes International Conservancy of Forest City July 11 to become the first organization to become a Life Member. Taking part in the presentation are, from left, Mike Saunders, president of CLIC; Bill Walton, CLIC treasurer; and Elbridge Cleaves, president of WWLT. The WWLT works to protect and preserve land and water in the Chiputneticook Lakes Region of New Brunswick and Maine. These areas are the longest undeveloped stretch of pristine boundary water east of Minnesota and Ontario. CLIC is an association of people interested in the Chiputneticook Lakes Region and is concerned with conservation, water quality, fisheries and anything that might affect the lakes.
