On Monday, Aug. 2 there will be a meeting of the Aroostook Riders ATV Club at 6 p.m. at the Linneus Sno-Sports clubhouse.
The next ride will be Friday through Sunday, Aug. 6-8, with a two-night trip to Machias. Riders will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the former Bartlett’s Store in Orient. They will leave at 1 p.m. for an afternoon ride, with dinner at Helen’s Restaurant.
On Saturday, riders will leave at 8:30 a.m. for a morning ride, with lunch in town from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will leave from town at 1 p.m. for an afternoon ride. A lobster dinner at the Screen House at Beechwood Bay Estates in Cutler will be at 6 p.m. The menu includes lobster or steak, clams, soda, and more. Cost is approximately $20/person.
On Sunday, riders will leave at 9 a.m. for a morning ride or scenic beach walking tour, and then travel home in the afternoon.
Accommodations will be at either the Machias Motor Inn or Bluebird Motel.
To make reservations at the Machias Motor Inn, located next to the ATV trail, call 255-4863. Cost is $99 per night plus tax. Participants are responsible for making their own reservations; the Bluebird Motel, approximated a mile from the ATV trail, can be reached by calling 255-3332. Cost is $75 to $80 plus tax depending on the room.
