    HOULTON – Shirley Marie Ellis, 90, died May 22, 2010 at a local healthcare facility. She was born May 22, 1920 at Houlton, the daughter of James E. and Barbara M. (Hawkins) Fortier.
    Shirley attended Houlton schools. She married Wilmont E. Ellis and raised five children: Gary, Gerald, twins Robert and Roberta, and Ronald. Shirley was employed in retail for 35 years and retired from Porteous in the Bangor Mall. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bangor and the Military Street Baptist of Houlton.
    Shirley is survived by one son, Gerald Ellis and his wife Vivian of Broad Brook, CT; one daughter-in-law, Trisha Ellis of  IN; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Keith Fortier and his wife Harriet of MA; one sister, Dollie Estabrook and her husband Earle of Houlton; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her husband, Wilmont; three sons, Gary, Robert and Ronald; one daughter, Roberta; a grandson, Gary, II; eight brothers, Phillip, Leo, Donald, Francis, Russell, Thomas, Kenneth and Glenn; five sisters, Josephine Bickford, Clara Ruall, Thelma Kierstead, Beverly Green and Wilma Budd.
    Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service 11 a.m. with Rev. Randall Burns officiating.  Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Gifts may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Gardiner Health Care Activity Fund, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, 04730.
