Dirigo delegates named at Houlton High School

    HOULTON — Delegates from Houlton High School have been chosen to attend Dirigo Boys’ and Girls’ State.  Dirigo Boys’ and Girls’ State is a school of government sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary.  Girls’ State will be held at Husson University from June 20 to June 25 and Boys’ State will be held at Thomas College from June 20 to June 24.

    Delegates are chosen by the Social Studies Department at the high school.  This year’s Girls’ State delegates are Danielle Daigle, daughter of Philip and Michelle Daigle, sponsored by Katahdin Trust Company, Daisy Torres, daughter of Paul and Jane Torres, sponsored by Houlton High School Student Council, Alexis Rush, daughter of Stephen and Wanita Rush and Meghan Maker, daughter of Harold and Heather Maker, both sponsored by Chester L. Briggs Post #47 American Legion Auxiliary.
    Boys’ State delegates are Tyler Delano, son of Dana Delano and Julie Delano, sponsored by Houlton Lodge of Elks, Ashton Carmichael, son of Greg and Joanne Carmichael, and Aaron Faulkingham, son of Mark and Leanne Faulkingham, both sponsored by Chester L. Briggs Post #47 American Legion.
