    MONTICELLO – Fred George Smith, 53,  went home to be with his Lord October 28, 2009. He was born June 1, 1956, in Portsmouth, NH, the son of Fred G. Sr. and Joyce (Pinkham).
    His battle against brain cancer over the last 4 1/2 years also included a courageous battle to find his Lord. In addition to being surrounded with love by his family and his forever friends, Robert Ellis, David Johnston, Tom and Gail Mailman and many others, Fred also received exceptional care in his home from local services. 
    He is survived by his loving wife, Terry; seven children, Christopher, Lindsay, Justin, Amanda, Shawn, Andrea and Timothy; 11 grandchildren.
    A memorial service to celebrate Fred's lfe will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, at the Monticello Fish and Game Club. In keeping with Fred's lifelong passion for hunting and trapping, please feel free to wear camouflage or other casual attire. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
