The Oakfield Fire Department is holding an auction at the Community Center this Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. to raise money for new equipment.
Barb White, dispatcher with the department, says many useful items are coming in every day. Among the auction selections, are: a $500 gift certificate from Katahdin Forest Products; $250 in heating fuel; two cords of split wood; $25 off one ton of coal; $25 off one ton of wood pellets. White says there is an outstanding hand-crafted lamp with a moose and tree motif in addition to other hand-crafted items like socks, mittens, and home-baked goods that will be up for the right bids.
Refreshments will be on sale and doors open at 10 a.m. For more information, contact Smith at 757-8347.
