Officials with BRIDGES Transition have announced the creation of “Lunch & Learn,” a series of workshops for parents and providers in partnership with Maine Parent Federation. These sessions will focus on transition topics you asked for from our recent survey. If you have a son or daughter with special needs, these workshops are designed to answer the questions you have been asking.
The session will focus on transition topics at an accessible and central location for southern Aroostook. A light lunch will be provided and two-contact hours provided.
Beginning in August, the series will run through May with a different topic each month. In addition, we will be in two county locations, Presque Isle and Houlton. The first session is Special Education Transition Regulations and will be on: Friday, Aug. 14, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Presque Isle Career Center and Friday, Aug. 28, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Houlton Regional Hospital.
Workshops are free, however pre-registertion is required by noon the Friday before the session for planning of meals and materials. Space is limited. If needed, organizers will create a waiting list.
