Dine Out for the Animals a success

To the editor:
    We would like to thank the following restaurants for participating in the third annual Dine Out for the Animals – a benefit in support of the Houlton Humane Society Animal Shelter: Blue Moose, Brookside Inn, Elm Tree Diner, Grammy’s Country Inn, Horn of Plenty and Shamrock Café!  We also thank the many businesses around town that helped us spread the word about this event over the last several weeks; and we heartily thank everyone who ate out at one of these businesses on June 9th in support of caring for homeless pets awaiting adoption!
    As a reminder, June is Adopt a Cat Month and there are many beautiful, healthy, spayed/neutered cats at the Houlton animal shelter waiting for their special someone to come take them home. And during this month, adoption fees will be waived for all cats over the age of 12 months. So, please visit the shelter at 263 Callaghan Rd. (off the Ludlow Rd.). Your new best friend is waiting!
