Joyce and Diane Curry have returned home to Portland after spending Memorial Day weekend at the Curry homestead and visiting with friends and relatives in the area.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Varney spent Memorial Day weekend at their cottage on Mattawamkeag Lake with their son Nicky and his wife Carol along with their son, Nicholas and his wife, Carey and two children, Cody and Abby.
Cody loves to fish and did manage to get a few perch, despite the windy weather.
Katherine (Tat) Springer is recuperating at the Houlton Regional Hospital following surgery for an injured hip. I’m sure she would appreciate cards or notes to help speed the days.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayron Webb were Memorial Day guests of Mrs. Webb’s sister and husband, Freela and Clayton Lancaster in Dexter, returning home on Tuesday.
I still have a few birds arriving at my feeder, mostly chickadees and gold finch. Do not put too many sunflower seeds out in the summer, however, as they really don’t need them. I have filled my hummingbird feeder again so the little ones are doing a job emptying it.
The pesky skunks are back again digging holes in my back lawn. I did some mowing before the rain and saw many of the new holes. I filled in quite a few of them. There have not been any signs of deer yet, but I keep looking.
