GOLDEN PLUNGER AWARD — Teachers in grades K-5 have been focusing on learning strategies and skills they can use in writing workshop to help students increase their ability to write well. Mrs. DeWitt's class received "The Golden Plunger" award at a recent assembly for taking the plunge and trying new strategies in their writing workshop. Now the class is on the lookout for another class that they see "taking the plunge" so they can pass the award along to them. GOLDEN BOOK AWARD — Throughout the Read-a-thon at Mill Pond School, students were asked to keep track of how many minutes they read at home over a three-week period. Students in Mrs. McCarthy's kindergarten class received the "Golden Book Award" for having the most number of students participate in the Read-a-thon.
