MANY HAPPY RETURNS — The birthday celebration continued for Bessie Stockford, who turned 105 on March 21, when friends from the Oakfield Baptist Church threw the former Oakfield resident another party the following day at Madigan Estates when they brought in cake, ice cream, flowers and a gift. They said Madigan staff was extremely helpful in making sure everything was just right for their honored guest.  Doris Sherman said Stockford, probably a founding member of the church’s overseas mission group now headed by Sherman, remembered her and the missionary work they had done together years ago. And, although Stockford admitted to being tired from all the festivities, she said she enjoyed it and appreciated all the good wishes. Standing, from left, in front of Stockford are: Mildred Gagnon, Bernice Brannen, Alma Clark, Evelyn Johnson, Sherman, and Pastor Ian Tupper. Unable to attend were other members of the mission group Evelyn Burpee, Jackie Kennedy and Shellie Tupper.
