New priest

NEWLY ORDAINED — Virginia Urbanek was ordained an Episcopal priest by Bishop Stephen Lane on March 21 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Houlton. After independent study as well as a clinical pastoral education program at Maine Medical Center in Portland, she was approved for ordination by the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. Urbanek, a Houlton resident, teaches at the Wellington School in Monticello and awaits a permanent church assignment. She says her new role will be as a resource person for clergy and congregations in the northern half of the state. She will also provide coverage for clergy and lead retreats. Urbanek said: “It will be an honor and privilege to serve God’s people in my new capacity.”
