Oakfield Baptists provide Christmas gifts

On Saturday, Dec. 13 the Oakfield Baptist Church members along with the Marine Corps program,
Toys for Tots were able to hand out bags of toys and clothing to a total of 54 families in the Oakfield community. Within this group of families were 128 children.
Pastor Ian Tupper said, “It is a great opportunity for us as a church to give back to the community. It’s amazing to see this many families touched by what Toys for Tots is doing.”
This is the fourth year Oakfield Baptist Church has been involved with this project. There are a lot of hours put in prior to this giving event. The church group initiates several fund-raisers throughout the year to raise money for the many gifts. They host suppers, musical events and other activities. The National Starch Company donated $500 to the fund and other individuals have generously given to this cause, as well. Clothes and toys are collected or dropped off at the church and volunteers work to sort through it.
Kimberly Williams, Avis Noyes and Shelly Tupper were very actively involved as volunteers along with Williams’ two daughters, Ariel and Alicia, and Noyes’ daughter, Brandy.
