Image    GLENBURN – Glenn “Chet” McGraw, 64, died Dec. 18, 2008, at his Glenburn home after a short illness. He was born Mar. 4, 1944, in Patten the son of Glenn T. and Reubena (Chase) McGraw.
    Chet graduated from Patten Academy in 1963. He was in the Maine Army National Guard, Battery B 1 152 Field Artillery. He was a selectman of Dyer Brook where he was also a member of the planning and budget committee. Chet was an avid sportsman who especially loved to fly fish, build fly and spinning rods and tie flies. He loved taking pictures of sunsets and designed many beautiful pieces of furniture. He retired from Central Maine Transport in 2007. He also worked for Sherman Lumber Company, American Gear, Peabody Equipment, Louisiana Pacific and Sherman Chevrolet.
    Chet is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Betty (Morrison) McGraw of Glenburn; his children, Holly and her husband Chuck Hogan of Glenburn, Kirby McGraw of Glenburn and his friend Noel Scott of Monmouth; his sister, Sheila and her husband Rodney Nelson of Travelers Rest, S.C.; his brother, Kirby T. Locke of LaPorte, Ind.; a favorite aunt, Pauline Farmer of Sherman Station; two very adorable granddaughters, Abigail and Lauren Hogan of Glenburn with whom he loved spending time; several nieces, nephews; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Durr and Judy Cameron of Dyer Brook; brother-in-law, Melvin and his wife Karen Morrison of Dyer Brook; life-long friend, Don Adams of Patten; and his trusting pets, Lily, Scooby and Tu. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Sonny Cameron; nephew, Glenn Patterson; close friend, Ted Friel; and his fishing buddy, Raymond Prescott.
    Friends called 3-6 p.m. Sat., Dec. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor where funeral services were held 10 a.m. Sun., Dec. 21, with Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, officiating. Spring interment will be at Dyer Brook Cemetery.  Gifts in his memory may be sent to Oncology Support Foundation, P.O.
