On Monday, the Southern Aroostook Warriors used a strong second half to overpower visiting Limestone/MSSM, 92-69.
“We mixed the defenses well and offensively, we scored inside and out,” said SACS coach Vaughn Sleeper. “We had good bench play with nine players scoring and 13 players seeing action. I’m very pleased with the team play and we managed to limit our turnovers.”
Leading 42-32 at halftime, the Warriors outscored the Eagles, 50-37 for the win behind Dakota Sleeper’s 24 points and 11 assists. Cody Robinson fired in 23 points, while Tyler Robinson and Mike Casey netted 14 points apiece.
On the girl’s side, the Lady Warriors rolled by host Ashland, 53-30 last Saturday.
The Lady Warriors built a 28-18 halftime advantage, outscoring Ashland, 17-4 in the third to break the game open.

In last Thursday’s game in Stacyville, the Lady Warriors picked up a 37-31 win over Katahdin.
Leading 17-14 at halftime, the Lady Warriors extended their lead in the third, 28-19 en route to the win, as Evangeline Goodall scored four of her eight points in the third. Lauren McGary added eight more points for the winners.
For Katahdin, Olivia McNally scored 15 points.
The Ashland Hornets led 20-10 to open the game and extended their lead through three periods, 60-34 en route to a 66-50 victory over host Greater Houlton Christian Academy at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Ted Bowers and Zach Straubel led the Eagles with 12 points apiece, while Micah Wiley added 11 more.
Last Saturday, the Eagles were defeated 54-51 by host Calvary Chapel.
Calvary led 23-22 at halftime, but extended their lead to 40-33 after the third en route to the close win.
Chad Duff and Wiley each tossed in 17 points for the Eagles.
In their first of a three games on the week, the Eagles pulled out a 59-52 win over host Hodgdon.
The Hawks led 26-20 at intermission and held a 44-37 after the third, but the Eagles overcame a 14-point deficit to take the win. Duff scored 18 points, while Wiley tossed in 13 and Jaron Gray added 10 more for the winners.
For Hodgdon, Chris Williams poured in 25 points and Andrew McGillicuddy netted 14.
In last Wednesday’s game, the Hawks overtook visiting East Grand, 69-45, as the Hawks outscored the Vikes, 15-8 for a 29-18 halftime advantage.
Dan McGillicuddy poured in 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while twin brother, Andrew had 10 points and Williams chipped in with 16 more.
East Grand was led by Kaleb Dicker’s 23 points and Seth Cropley’s 11.
In girl’s action, the Lady Eagles defeated Ashland, 40-27 behind Kari Brewer’s 22 points.
The Lady Eagles spiked a 20-13 halftime lead, but watched the Hornets come to within three points to end the third, 26-23.GHCA’s Brewer scored eight points in the decisive quarter to lift her team to the win.
Kasi Parker added 13 points for the winners.
The Lady Eagles overtook Easton 47-25 last Tuesday, as Parker scored nine of her 15 in the second period as GHCA outscored the Bears, 14-3. Brewer netted 17 more points for the winners.
The East Grand Lady Vikings were edged 45-43 by visiting Easton last Saturday.
The game was tied 10-all at the start and East Grand held a 24-22 halftime advantage only to fall behind 32-31 after three. The teams battled down to the wire with Easton hanging on for the win.
Kelsey Daoust led East Grand with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Nikki Tuck scored 13 points and grabbed 12 boards. Tisheena Roy pulled down 10 rebounds.
Last Thursday, the Lady Vikings were overtaken 95-29 by visiting Woodland. Daoust dropped in 18 points for East Grand.
In boy’s action, the East Grand Vikings didn’t have any better luck against Woodland, as they were overpowered, 93-36.
The Dragons opened a 58-17 halftime lead and cruised.
Kaleb Dicker tossed in 17 points for the Vikes.
