LADY PIRATES – The Maine Lady Pirates 14U girls hockey team won the Lady Flames Fall Festival ice hockey tournament in Marlborough, Mass. recently with a thrilling 4-3 win. Maine tied the game with four seconds remaining on the clock, and scored the winning goal in the fourth overtime period. The team, which is sponsored by the Portland Junior Pirates, is made up of the top 13-and-14-year-old female hockey players in Maine. Playing for the Lady Pirates are, front, left to right, Mehgan Farrell, Makaela Michonski, Anne-Marie Provencal, Katie McLaughlin, Katherine Pate and Taylor Fowler; back, coach Marc Violette, Mariah Farrell, Megan Fortier, Abby Kinens, Hannah Dineen, Kylie Dalbec, Ally Strachan, Teal Gosselin, Cici Frattasio, Kara Violette and coach Liz Yale-Loehr.
