AUGUSTA – The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Maine recently honored a number of state legislators for their support of AGC issues during the 123rd Maine Legislature.
AGC President Loren Clarke of Bangor thanked the legislators for their “leadership on a number of crucial economic issues that had a direct effect on the competitiveness of our state.”
“The votes you cast helped to make possible substantial improvements in our state’s roads and bridges,” said Clarke. “Your actions also helped to create and maintain thousands of jobs in the construction industry.”
In recognition of their efforts, the AGC honored the legislators in a series of dinner programs in Orono, South Portland and Presque Isle. John O’Dea, executive director of AGC Maine, said the three events were a major step in AGC’s continuing efforts to support legislation that improves Maine’s infrastructure and strengthens Maine’s construction industry.
The legislators who attended the programs were Representatives Rich Cebra, Stacey Fitts, Jane Eberle, Jeremy Fischer, Dusty Fisher, Sue Austin, Bob Walker, David Richardson and Richard Blanchard.
Also attending were Senators Joe Perry, Bill Diamond, Deb Plowman, Carol Weston, Elizabeth Schneider, Nancy Sullivan and Dennis Damon.
