As the holiday season nears, the pieces of the Houlton Rotary Club’s 53rd annual Auction are coming together. Despite a challenging economy, area businesses and individuals, knowing the importance of the auction to local projects and programs, have donated a variety of items and services.

DONATION – Houlton’s financial institutions pool resources to donate an Englander pellet stove and a ton of pellets to the 53rd annual Houlton Rotary Auction. A list of a few goods up for bid this year are: a Musquash Log Cabin (20-feet x32-feet) donated by Ward Cedar Log Homes: a 56-inch Samsung HDTV donated by Louisiana Pacific in cooperation with Bart and Nancy Dunn at Sears: half a pig (pork chops/bacon/ham/ground pork/pork roast/spareribs/sausage and more) from County Yankee: hardwood floor refinishing by Paul Prosser: A 60-inch dining room hutch donated by Furniture and Floors North: an Englander multi-fuel pellet stove and a ton of wood pellets from area banks in cooperation with the S.W. Collins Company.
The auction will again run for three days November 24-26, but with so many products and services available, the Rotary Club has extended the bidding to 11 p.m. each evening. Be sure to mark these dates on your calendar and watch for the auction supplement in the Houlton Pioneer Times.
