Honest government, reduce spending

To the editor:
The more the public applies itself to these Houlton Town Council meetings or reads the newspapers, perhaps they will find what these officials are doing these days may not be working for the public’s best interest. Perhaps one of the best games they like to play is “buy now” and pay later on your behalf. A citizen that is a taxpayer can only look forward to paying more taxes so the Council can go into your pocketbook in these hard times and clean you out. This is why I am sincere and dedicated to be a candidate for one of the three-year seats on the Town Council.
This time let people for once elect a candidate, who is not just interested in the good old boys, just for themselves or special groups. A candidate that maybe wants to be different, and wants an honest government that reduces spending — which means lower taxes.
The issues that are important to me are economic and community development, because both will add growth to the community and jobs so our population can have a future.
The people have a right to know what both hands of the government are doing.
I have served on the Town Council, on the Board Budget Review, Zoning Board of Appeals, Road Committee, Parks & Recreation and the Board of Assessment Review. I have also served on the Aroostook Quality Council and, appointed by the Commissioner of Mental Health, I am president of the Southern Aroostook Chapter Alliance For the Mentally Ill.
If elected Nov. 4, I will serve you well.
