    HOULTON.   Earl W. Scott, 83, of Houlton, died October 20, 2008, at Houlton. He was born September 7, 1925 in Houlton the son of Sidney and Gertrude (Carr) Scott.
    Earl attended Houlton schools and was in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. He was a resident of Houlton and a well-known carpenter in the area for many years.
    Earl is survived by two sisters, Betty Scott of Hodgdon and Gloria Cortis of Glenburn; two brothers, Harold Scott of Fort Fairfield and Merlin Scott of Bangor; a nephew, David Little and his wife Tanya and their son, Cody Earl Little of Houlton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline Connors and Ellen Lycette; one brother, Robert Scott; and a special nephew, Linwood Scott.
    A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton.
