Higher Ed Center offers learning opportunity

College Transitions Computer Class
    The Maine College Transitions College Access Program (CAP) began holding computer classes for its CAP students October 7, from 3 to 5 pm in the computer lab at the Houlton Higher Education Center.  The instructor is Rainie Aucoin.
    Students will learn how to use MS Word and how to communicate with their instructors during their planned college experience.  CAP is a program of local colleges and universities, adult education, Maine Center for Women Work and Community, and the Maine Educational Opportunity Center.

Beginning Computer Class
    SAD 29/70 Houlton/Hodgdon Adult Education announces a 3-session "Intro to Computer Basics" class at the Houlton Higher Education Center on Tuesdays October 14, 21 and 28, 2008 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.  The class is designed for adults who have not taken a computer class recently and want to learn the basic terminology and functions of the computer.  The instructor is Rainie Aucoin and the course fee is $30, payable at or before the first class.  Class registration is limited to 10 students.

Cake Decorating Class
    SAD 29/70 Houlton/Hodgdon Adult Education announces an 8-session Cake Decorating class at the Houlton High School beginning Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m.  The instructor is Sherri Quint and the course fee is $35 (plus materials).

Sewing Class
    SAD 29/70 Houlton/Hodgdon Adult Education announces an 8-session Sewing class at the Houlton High School beginning Tuesday, October 14, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m.  The instructor is Penny Richardson and the course fee is $40.
