Houlton Humane Society selected as Hometown Heroes

HOMETOWN HEROES — Unicel’s sixth annual Hometown Heroes program selected the Houlton Humane Society as their recipient of a $200 donation and a special certificate. Unicel Manager, Mary Williamson, on the left is shown with board member, Heather Miller in the center and shelter director, Naomi Williams. Each year, Unicel promotes this program and rewards an individual or group that gives of themselves or puts themselves at risk for the sake of our community. Refreshments were served to guests and Chris Putnam provided local radio coverage. Unicel is strongly committed in giving back to their communities and it gives them a chance to thank the heroes of the area.
