All classes of vehicles with pullers from as far away as Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Brunswick
The Northern Penobscot Pullers Association will host its final local horsepower show of the season in Ashland at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 20.
All classes of vehicles will be running with pullers from as far away as Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Brunswick. Rumor has it there will even be a woman’s open. These have proven to be some of the most entertaining pulls of the year. The woman drivers show no fear and give it all they have.
There will be a concession stand right on the grounds so those in attendance can satisfy their craving and not miss a pull.
Every one has a good time at these events from the pit crew maintaining the track and lining up the trucks for each class to the tech crew ensuring “legal” vehicles, as well as the registration workers, the laser system operators, the flag people and the sled operators.
With first-class announcers, the spectators learn something about each vehicle and even get included in the fun.
This season has been great with many shows from Machias to Skowhegan, Kingfield, Presque Isle, Bangor, Dover Foxcroft, Windsor, Springfield, Clinton, Oxford, Ashland, Cumberland and Fryeburg.
According to organizers, this has been the busiest year with the most fairs requesting NPPA to do pulls, sometimes two or more times in the season. The popularity of the sport is growing.
