Old Home Days were again held in Sherman recently with a variety of family-oriented events and entertainment.
Free children’s games were offered again during the four-day festival. The object of these games is to play as many games as you can in one hour. Children get as many tickets as they can for the opportunity to have their name drawn for a bike. Children had to play all games as well.
This year’s games included: egg and spoon, lumber relay, roll tires, water balloon toss, ring jars of water with hoola hoops, sack race and the famous duck pond. Girls 7 and under winner was Kaeley Brann of North Waterboro; girls 8 and older winner was Makayla LaCharite from Island Falls; boys 7 and under winner was Dylan Hayes from Millinocket; and boys 8 and older winner was Andrew Cummings from Stacyville. All other children received a school supply with a bag of little prizes. Thanks to all children, helpers, and parents for a fun hour. Thanks again to organizer Ann Lane.
This year organizers incorporated a Baby Pagent at the Sherman Rec with six participants. They were Maggie Allen, Zachery Lane, Briana Stubbs, Austin Suitter, Abbey Lane and Jayden Stevens. All babies were ages 3 and under and all received a certificate for participating. Thank you moms, dads, and babies.
