Canoe/kayak race benefits SACHS Dollars for Scholars

    Island Falls Lakes Association will host the Recreational Canoe and Kayak Race on Saturday, July 26 with registration from 9-9:45 a.m., followed by a race rules briefing at 9:45 a.m. and the start at 10 a.m. The event begins and ends at Birch Point on Pleasant Lake.                           
    A $10 entry fee per person will be collected and prizes will be awarded in adult categories including canoes: men doubles, women doubles and mixed; singles kayaks including Otters, longer kayaks and tandem. Junior categories: canoe: doubles and singles; kayak; Otters, all others.
    Proceeds from the race will benefit the Southern Aroostook Community High School Dollars for Scholars project.
