Ian Gervais was the first to tee off Monday, and drove his ball straight down the fairway. Gervais ended his round with an 83, which was good for second place in the 15-17 year old bracket.
The junior tournament was split up into four different age groups: 12 and under, 13-14, 15-17, and 18.
In the 12 and under division, Robbie Watson, of Fort Fairfield, took an early lead, going three strokes under anyone else in his age bracket from the very first hole, and never looked back. Watson held the best score at each hole, which included parring three holes out of nine. He ended the day with a score of 43.
Evan Waddell, of Presque Isle, took home the 13-14 year old crown. Waddell shot a 79 for 18-holes. Waddell was very consistent throughout the day, shooting one stroke better on his back nine holes than the first nine.

In the 15-17 year old division, David Dubois, of Island Falls, edged out a close win. Dubois shot a 36 on the front nine and a 42 on the back, giving him a total score of 78. Ian Gervais saw an opening in the middle of the back nine, but could not take the lead, and ended up in second place with a total score of 83.
Finally, in the 18 year-old division, Dylan Flewelling, of Houlton, edged out his Houlton High School golf teammate Porter Gervais to take the win. Flewelling parred all but two holes in the front nine, and birdied two holes in the back nine to end with a total score of 77.

Porter Gervais watches the path of his ball as it rolls toward the hole during the junior tournament Monday.

“I played pretty good. Felt like everything was going right. [Porter and I] just played together, wasn’t really competitive, wasn’t any different than usual,” explained Flewelling.
