The annual Houlton High School Alumni Scramble is this weekend. This nine-hole event will be played Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on July 5. There is still room for three more teams, so call the clubhouse to sign up now. You do not have to be a Houlton alumnus to play. Call the clubhouse at 532-2662 for more information. Later that afternoon, an alumni social will be held from 4-8 p.m.
Friday evening Couples’ League will not play this week, July 4, due to the holiday, but will resume next week on July 11. Plan to bring a partner and enjoy the golf and social hour afterwards.
Twilight League action is well under way.
In the Woods Division, the Donald Dunn/Russ Fitzpatrick team is 3-0 and scored a perfect 18 points. They seem to be the team to beat, but the Williams/Cleary team and defending champs Rick Goodwin/Kevin McPhee team are chasing them.
In the Mickelson Division, the Turner/Mailman team beat the Marino/Peabody team to take over first place.
And in the Els Division, the Goodwin/Peabody team is a half point ahead of the McPartland/Gervais team.
Next Wednesday, July 9, the golf club will host the Upper St. John Valley Ladies’ Senior Tournament. The course will be closed that day until 4 p.m.
Junior Golf began this week with more than 35 participants.
Finally, the fourth annual July 2 Ball 666 Tournament will be held July 19. Get your partner now and sign up for this popular event.
