    Houlton – Vernon R. "Rusty" Spooner, 80, went to be with his Lord June 21, 2008, at his residence. He was born November 11, 1927, at Cary Plantation, the son of Frank H. and Emma B. (Brewer) Spooner.
    Rusty was a member of the Christ of Church. He was employed by Maine Department of Transportion as a Mechanic Supervisor for 20 years. He loved to hunt and fish.
    Rusty is survived by his wife, Gladys (Haley) Spooner of Houlton; three sons, Patrick Spooner and his wife Maureen of Windham, NH, Michael Spooner and his wife Elvira of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis Spooner and his wife Brenda of Hodgdon; six grandchildren, Chad, Jon, Tim and Thomas Spooner all of Hodgdon, Krystal Myers of Page, AZ, Mark Spooner of IA; three great- grandchildren; one brother, Earl Spooner of Orient; four sisters, Evelyn Marcellino of CT, Mary Foley of Orient, Ruby Spielman of CT, Vera Eggert of CT; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
