HOULTON, Maine — Last fall in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Bridge to Hope supported the “Pink Tulip Project” by planting 600 tulip bulbs as seeds of hope and renewal for cancer patients and their families.
The budding tulips, planted to resemble of a pink ribbon, were placed on a bank approaching on the Market Square side of the pedestrian bridge. Funds raised with the project benefit the Maine Cancer Society.
The flowers are expected to be in bloom in the coming days, and a dedication ceremony for the garden is planned for noon on Saturday, May 10.
