PRESQUE ISLE – The Wildcat girls proved they love water, especially in their home lanes, defeating the Ellsworth Eagles in Saturday’s duel swim meet.
The Presque Isle relay teams showed their strength with two first-place times.
In the 200-yard medley relay Presque Isle A (Allison Young, Karrie Brawn, Courtney Hoffses and Emilee Currie) pulled to a 2:28.34 victory.
Presque Isle B (Shae Adler, Desiree Higgins, Dara Raymond and Rilee Currie) strokes put them in third in 2;44.76.
The 200-yard freestyle competition had the Wildcats on top again with Presque Isle A in first at 2:05.14.
Presque Isle B had another third-place finish at 2:22.33. Presque Isle A completed the 400-yard freestyle relay just behind Ellsworth in 5:17.40.

Currie 1:30.30 and 4, Raymond 1:14.36. 500-yard freestyle: 1, Rilee Currie 8:00.22. 100-yard backstroke: 1, Young 1:24.30 and 3, Adler 1:28.29. 100-yard breaststroke: 3, Brawn 1:31.08; 4, McEachern 1:43.16; and 5, Higgins 1:49.47.
The Presque Isle boys fell to Ellsworth by team score. The 200-yard medley relay team (Gerard Desjardin, Matt Harris, Mike Yu and Kyle Gilson) placed second in 2:26.25.
Presque Isle A also swam to second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:11.52.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay Presque Isle A swam to third in 5:17.40.
