The weekly meeting of TOPS 145 was held Jan. 16 at the Congregational Church in Island Falls.
We had 13 members weigh-in, which is small for us, and we had nine attend our meeting.
Our person who lost the most weight for the week was Glady Corneil and runner-up was Lois Green.
We had a great weight loss for the week. We are on a roll after the holidays.
Reports for the week were given by our secretary and treasurer.
Riva Hawkes led the program for the week. Her topic was on Heart Health, eat lots of fruits, and vegetables. Also, walnuts are excellent for you, and, of course, eat fish twice a week.
Meetings are always interesting. Please feel welcome to our group of women every Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. for weigh-ins and the meeting starts at 9 a.m. meeting starts.
Call 365-4884 for more information.
The Senior Citizens Club of Sherman, Benedicta, Stacyville and Silver Ridge folks met at the Sherman Gym for an 11:30 a.m. potluck lunch. Many cards were signed and sent to the ill, bereaved and for other important reasons. The count of heads present was small. The wintery weather was partly to blame because this area has had more than its share of snowfalls to date and winter has only just started.
The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 6. Will the groundhog see his shadow? We’ll play Bingo that day which won’t cost you much and will bring some fun into your life.
Think about where you would like to go and we will attempt to set a time of year to go on our summer outing.
Present at the meeting were two RSVP representatives among us, namely Gini Garrett from the Presque Isle office and southern Aroostook RSVP coordinator, and Mim Nichols from Houlton RSVP. Others attending included: Linnea Perry, Bonita Staples, Sam Guiggey, Margaret Duffy, Mary Dickinson, Patricia Violette, Eva Perry and Annie and Fred Atkinson.
