WALLINGFORD, CT – Ada (Crandall) Eager of Wallingford, wife of the late Paul C. Eager died Monday, January 14, 2008, at Masonic Healthcare Center, 5 days before her 95th birthday, after a long illness. She was born January 19, 1913, in Oakfield, Maine, the daughter of Harry E. Crandall and Agnes Adams Crandall.
She was a graduate of Merrill High School in Merrill, Maine. She moved to Connecticut in 1951, and was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft until her retirement. Before and after retiring she and her husband spent part of the time at their home on Pleasant Pond in Island Falls, Maine and at their home in Lakeland, Florida. She was a member of the Yalesville United Methodist Church. Ada loved sports and played basketball when she was a youth. She enjoyed reading, knitting, baking, bowling, golf and baseball.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Vic) Eager and his wife Carole of Meriden; two granddaughters, Carrie Ann Pyer and her husband Michael of Wallingford, Kristen Nedinsky and her husband Joseph of Meriden; five great-grandchildren, Shawn and Matthew Pyer, Erika, Alex & Ethan Nedinsky; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Clifford (Skip) Eager and daughter-in-law, Lois (Boots) Eager; sisters, Margerie White, Marion Olson, Jane Mason and Madeline Whitaker; and brothers, Donald, Arthur (Hap), Lloyd, Marshall (Deak) and Roland.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Wallingford, Thursday, from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Interment will be at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
