During last Friday’s game, the Katahdin Lady Cougars watched a 23-19 halftime advantage dissolve into a 57-42 loss against Bangor Christian at Husson College.
The Patriots behind Kelly Robinson’s nine points, outscoring Katahdin, 18-13 in the third to take a 37-36 advantage into the final period en route to the win. Robinson finished with 19 points,
For Katahdin, Olivia McNally and Kayla Stevens each had 12 points, while Alisha Majkowski added 10 more.
In boy’s action last Thursday, the Cougars were defeated by the Bangor Christian Patriots, 52-41 at Husson College.
The Cougars were in front at halftime, 21-17 before the Patriots overtook them in the third by a point, 31-30. But, the Patriots put together a 21-11 scoring surge in the final period to pull away for the win.
For Katahdin, Qualey tossed in 15 and Tom Anderson netted 11 more.
Last Tuesday, host Schenck narrowly defeated the Lady Cougars, , 44-42, after Katahdin climbed their way back into the game.
The Lady Cougars faced a 22-15 halftime deficit, but outscored Schenck, 27-22, before falling short.
McNally led Katahdin with 24 points, including four 3-pointers and Jalisa Moore chipped in with 10 more points.
The Cougars were in action last Tuesday night, as well, overtaking visiting Hodgdon, 76-31. The Cougars jumped to a 19-8 opening lead and extended it to a 38-15 halftime lead. They continued to build their lead in the third, 63-24.
McCarthy led the way with 17 points, while Anderson added 12 more for the winners.
For the Hawks, Travis Quint and Robert Crane finished with seven points apiece.
