WOODSTOCK, N.B. – Friends throughout the community were saddened to learn of the passing of Inez Villa (Sharpe) DeLong of Woodstock, NB, at the Carleton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, September 16, 2007. Born September 27, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alma (Melvin) Sharpe. Inez grew up on the family farm in Jacksonville, where she attended school and went to church on a regular basis. Inez was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survived by a daughter, Shirley Winship (Robert), of Hodgdon, ME; son, Ronald (Linda), of Stoney Creek, ON; five grandchildren, Peter and David Winship, Kenneth, Steven and Richard DeLong; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert and her siblings.
Visitation was held at The Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville on Tuesday, September 18, from 7:30 to 9:30. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 19, at 3:00 p.m. from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating. Interment was held in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
