Photo corrections
    A picture of the Aroostook Football League varsity Huskies ran in the November 14 issue of The Star-Herald.     Due to an oversight some of the team members in the photo were not identified. They are as follows: Matt Harris (#85), Lucas Richards (#90), Hank Milligan (#20), Logan Maruszak (#95), Sonny Drost (#80) and Nick Beckler (#65).

National baseball teams
    Coast to Coast Baseball is inviting amateur baseball players between the ages of 13 to 15 and 16 to 18 to learn more about teams being formed to represent the USA in competition in Puerto Rico, Australia and Hawaii.
    Applicants can submit a program application or video application for the 2008 season.

TAMC/TD Banknorth Eastern Series Races
    Volunteers are needed to help at the TAMC/TD Banknorth cross country ski event to be held at the Nordic Heritage Center on Dec. 15 and 16.

Nordic Walking Club
    The Nordic walking club will meet every Tuesday at noon at noon at Gentile Hall at the University of Maine at Presque Isle until Dec. 18.
    Membership is $100 and includes a pair of walking poles and a Craft brand Pro-warm base layer. Contact Melanie Stewart at 760-9500.
Fort Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department programs
    Open gym times: Fridays 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturdays 1:30 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m.
Turkey Trot 5K
    The annual Turkey Trot 5k will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24 starting at Caribou High School. Registration begins at 9 a.m., the race following at 10 a.m. The registration fee is $10. The first 50 runners get shirts. For more information, contact Dan Harrigan at 498-3226.
    Post race ceremonies include turkey topped pizza and awards for the race winners.
Adventure Sundays

    The Nordic Heritage Sport Club and Maine Winter Sports Center are teaming up to host another “Adventure Sunday” at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle. Area youth in grades five to eight are invited to participate in a Poker Hike on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m.
    This activity will include an introduction to the basics of orienteering and using a map and compass, and will feature a moderate trek on the trails of the Nordic Heritage Center.
    Snacks and water will be provided.

Presque Isle High School
season passes
    PIHS athletics department announces that season passes for varsity basketball and ice hockey may be purchased at the athletic office.
    For anyone that reserved seat last year, these seats will be honored until December 22.
    After that date, reserved seating will be on a first come, first served basis.
    Prices follow: basketball only $30, ice hockey only $25 and combination $50.
    Season pass holders will be admitted to all regular season home games only.
Baseball fantasy trip
    The Alfond Youth Center announces their 7th annual baseball fantasy trip to take place from June 16 to 21.
    The tentative schedule includes three games in Philadelphia with Red Sox, either the Mets or the Yankees and a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
